Karmen S. Wiliams, DrPH, MBA, MSPH, MA

Karmen is an assistant professor in the Master of Science in Population Health Informatics program in the Health Policy and Management department at the City University of New York. Dr Williams is also actively involved with the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) as the previous co-chair of the Women in AMIA Pathways Subcommittee; past chair of the Dental Informatics Working Group; a member of the Retention and Achievement Subcommittee of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee; and the director of “For Your Informatics,” a podcast that explores the limitless world of medical informatics. Dr Williams is passionate about increasing representation in STEM at the system level within all areas of informatics. She is the moderator for this panel and will provide input on the background of women and ethnic minorities in STEM. Karmen serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Medical Internet Research.
Kenrick Cato, PhD, RN, CPHIMS, FAAN, FACMI

Kenrick is a professor of informatics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and a nurse scientist for pediatric data and analytics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr Cato is a respected creator and evaluator of decision support tools. Dr Cato is a clinical informatician whose research focuses on applying state-of-the-art data science methods to electronic patient data to support decision-making for clinicians, patients, and caregivers. He is the author of over 100 publications, with several notable awards. He was awarded the Bronze Star from the US Army in 2005 and elected to the New York Academy of Medicine in 2015, the American Academy of Nursing in 2019, and the American College of Medical Informatics in 2023. Kenrick is an associate editor for JMIR Nursing.
Kelly J Craig, PhD

Kelly Jean (KJ) is the executive director of Clinical Evidence Development at CVS Health. Formerly, she served as deputy chief science officer of Evidence-Based Practice at IBM Watson Health and as a tenured associate professor of biological sciences at Colorado Mesa University. As a principal investigator, she explored the pathophysiology of disease in basic, translational, and clinical research projects, leading teams at the National Institute on Aging (part of the National Institutes of Health), academia, and a health care institution. She obtained her PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology and a teaching certificate in scientific communications from Georgetown University. KJ is an associate editor for the Journal of Medical Internet Research.
Caroline Perrin, PhD

Caroline is executive director of the Geneva Digital Health Hub (gdhub) at the University of Geneva, focusing on data-driven knowledge management in digital health and enabling science-informed policy-making. Previously, as program manager for the RAFT distance learning and telemedicine network and the Geneva University Hospitals eHealth service, she focused on the design, development, deployment and evaluation of innovative health informatics solutions and multi-stakeholder partnerships to strengthen health systems. She holds a master's degree in IT management and a PhD in global health from the University of Geneva. Caroline is an associate editor for JMIR Medical Informatics and serves as the section editor for implementation reports article type.

A passionate digital health and health information aficionado, Tina is driven by the mission to collaborate and construct robust public health systems. The ultimate goal? Empowering informed decisions for health and well-being. Her academic foundation is rooted in economics and biomedical informatics, and she flourishes when immersed in interdisciplinary, human-centric public health endeavors. Tina has over 20 years experience from academia, European Center for Prevention and Control, and the World Health Organization. Proud to be Dean’s Visiting Scholar at University of Memphis School of Public Health and a Fellow of the Australasian Institute for Digital Health, she also upholds a PMP certification alongside various non-degree pursuits.
