This landmark partnership marks a significant step forward in TU/e's commitment to advancing open science and ensuring the widest possible dissemination of its cutting-edge research. The flat fee agreement eliminates article processing charges (APCs) for TU/e corresponding authors, streamlining the publication process and removing financial barriers to open access. "We are thrilled to partner with JMIR Publications to offer this new open access agreement to our researchers," said Carlijn Postma, responsible for the TU/e library collection and open access agreements. "TU/e strongly supports the open access model, which aligns with our vision of making knowledge freely accessible to the global community. This agreement provides opportunities for our faculty and affiliated researchers to publish their work openly, increasing its visibility, impact, and reach." The agreement simplifies the publishing workflow for TU/e authors, enabling them to publish their research under open access licenses without concerns about individual APCs. This initiative underscores TU/e's dedication to fostering an environment where research can thrive and contribute directly to global advancements. Dennis O’Brien, VP Communications and Partnerships at JMIR Publications, added, "JMIR Publications is proud to collaborate with the Eindhoven University of Technology, an institution at the forefront of innovation and research. This unlimited open access agreement exemplifies our shared commitment to transforming scholarly communication and accelerating the dissemination of high-quality research. This is JMIR’s first publishing agreement in the Netherlands and we look forward to adding more institutional partners in the future." The partnership is effective July 1, 2025, and covers publishing in all JMIR Publications journals for two years.
