JMIR Publications had a productive time at the AMIA 2025 Annual Symposium in Atlanta, Georgia! It was truly inspiring to engage with so many dedicated researchers, authors, and attendees who stopped by our booth, eager to share and discuss their current projects and groundbreaking research topics.

The sheer excitement surrounding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve health care outcomes was palpable. We heard about countless cutting-edge studies focusing on everything from predictive diagnostics and clinical decision support to optimizing patient engagement through AI-driven tools. Thank you to everyone who shared their amazing work with us.

Here are the key highlights and takeaways from our incredible week in Atlanta.

Connecting with the Community: Authors and Reviewers

Our booth was a hub for insightful conversations, particularly about the publishing journey:

  • The Publishing Process: We met many attendees curious about how to turn their innovative research into a published article. For those of you who asked, we encourage you to review our comprehensive Instructions for Authors on our website. It's the perfect place to start your submission journey!
  • Becoming a Peer Reviewer: Many researchers also inquired about how they can contribute to the quality of digital health science. If you are interested in joining our network of peer reviewers, please review our Peer Reviewer FAQ and sign up to help shape the future of informatics research.
  • Editorial Board Appreciation: A massive thank you goes out to our dedicated Editorial Board Members! We were honored that so many of you took time out of your busy schedules to visit our booth, speak with prospective authors, and join us for a fun and memorable dinner.

Booth Buzz and Portfolio Discoveries

The booth was a popular spot for attendees who enthusiastically engaged with our resources:

  • Publishing Options for Every Study Phase: We were excited that many researchers already familiar with core titles like Journal of Medical Internet Research and JMIR Medical Informatics learned about our other journals for the first time including the options to submit their study protocols (JMIR Research Protocols) and pilot work (JMIR Formative Research).
  • Resourceful Researchers Stocked Up: Attendees were highly receptive to our special AMIA discount code, viewing them as practical resources for future submissions. Many attendees took more than one code to share with colleagues or keep for themselves, which we loved to see! (For those who asked: you can pick up a new code when you visit us at AMIA 2026!)
